St Stephens Show & Results
The Howard sisters had an exceptional day at the St Stephen in Brannel annual show going home laden with silver cups and trophies. Katie and Emma collected five first places between them in the showing ring judged by Gemma Jones (nee Semmens) and three first places in the jumping ring. Where they didn’t win the class they entered they picked up a rosette within the top three and in the working hunter pony class and the mountain and moorland the sisters took home first and second.
Four year-old Hannah-Emily Knight from Polgooth was delighted with her win in the lead rein class and was still clutching her trophy when the gymkhana classes were about to start.
Seven year-old Victoria Cowling has been bitten by the gymkhana bug and had been practising at home on her 22 year-old pony Roxi since her debut at Lanivet show. Victoria won the 8 years and under championship taking home the Jake Olver trophy presented to her by show president Roy Olver (Pictured). Emma Warren was again on form in the 12 years and under gymkhana after winning the junior and open championship at the SWEP show she took the junior championship with Gilly and had to share the open with Mathew Wade on Bronnie.
Paul James on Second Thoughts won the ridden coloured, the working hunter and was crowned the overall showing champion collecting the Terry L Rowe Trophy. Reserve showing champion went to Emma Howard on Celton Q.
Show organiser Molly Richards said: " Everyone had an enjoyable day even though numbers were a little down on last year. Snapshot Photography came to the show and I asked him especially to take a photograph of the presentation of awards. He very kindly donated this free of charge for the show". Roberto from Snapshot Photography based in Bodmin, commented that he was only too pleased to donate the photograph free of charge. He usually donates something to the shows he attends and this was a little something extra.
