Endurance Jigsaw Puzzle
Story by Amanda Oakley, Photo by Farlap Photography

Camel Valley Riding Club hosted a successful Jigsaw Puzzle Endurance Ride that commenced from the Royal Cornwall Showground and took riders around some magnificent routes. With strong winds and torrential rain it was a true endurance ride.
Over 70 riders from throughout the south west entered the 80k, 66k, 50k and 22k rides not to mention the 33 determined pleasure riders who rode the 33k ride of road and forest tracks. 24 riders gained Grade one, three Grade two, nine Grade three, five Grade four, seven passes and four completions.
Riders included many national and international riders including Rachael Clarridge who last year represented England and the South West in Dubia, Jill Thomas, Tristan and Rachael Bishop, Anne Joppe, Jane James, Ann and Carrie Ann Dark, young rider Tess Chisholm and especially Carolyn Padget on her Exmoor pony Midnight Mischief who did fantastically well to be the only competitor to complete the 80k and collect a grade three missing the grade two award by only one point.
Organiser Charlene Derbyshire would like to thank the landowners, volunteers from Endurance GB and the Camel Valley Riding Club and the events sponsors Blue Chip Feed Balancer, RD Design, Miller Countrywide Estate Agents, Just Chaps and Rose Equestrian for their support of this years event.
