Jodie & Teoak Part Company
Young Jodie Gwinnett aged 7 of Stockport, Cheshire said goodbye to her lovely lead rein pony Rosemellyn Bubbling Burn earlier this month.
Teoak as he is known in the stable has given Jodie the ride of her life. They have been down the centre line to ‘Simply the Best’ more times than any little girl could ever wish for. Teoak is rising seven and was on loan to Jodie and her family by his breeder Amanda Oakley who lives in Cornwall.
Jodie and Teoak were regular competitors at Irwell Vale riding club shows and represented the club at many championships, in their first season together Jodie won the mini show pony championship at the Derbyshire festival of showing as well as taking the reserve championship in the Show Hunter Pony section. They were overall mini championship at the UK Premier Showing show at Myerscough winning the show pony lead rein and the show hunter pony. The lead rein championship at the festival of showing and took the pony of the year show hunter pony lead rein title at the Norther Counties Pony Association championship show. They qualified for all the major classes for the Ponies UK and BSPS Championships. Ending their first season together at Irwell Vale winning the lead rein show pony points and the lead rein show hunter points awards.
Jodie and Teoak also had a great second season taking reserve spot in the Northern Counties Pony of the Year show pony lead rein, reserve lead rein show pony champion at the UK Showing championships. At the Premier Championships they took the lead rein equitation champion and champions lead rein show pony at North West Riding Club Showing Championships. Competing at Irwell Vale throughout the year gained Jodie and Teoak the reserve champion lead rein show pony award, Champion lead rein show hunter points award the champion lead rein equitation and the overall mini tiny tots points winner. Jodie was delighted to be presented witht he Presidents Cup which was huge and nearly as big at Jodie herslef. They also agian qualified for all major classes at PUK and BSPS championships.
Jodie now has a new pony called Pip who she will be out on during 2006 taking things easy and getting used to her new pony enjoying shows in both Derbyshire and Cheshire.
Teoak had made a great start at his new home in Cornwall. With Mitchell (8) and Chloe (4) Hawken from Trelash, Near Launceston. On his debut outing with Chloe he qualified for the Royal International Horse Show in the Pretty Polly Home Produced Leading rein and the Open Show Hunter Pony lead rein by winning both classes in the same day. He has settled in really well and Mitchell has started jumping him hoping to do cradle stakes in the near future. He entered his first dressage test recently gaining 63%. |
