Native Pony Association

Each year the Native Pony Association of Cornwall holds a competition for the highest number of points won by its members over the year. These points are awarded for taking part in, or winning a wide selection of disciplines from Gymkhana to Showing to Cross-Country, individual prizes as well as overall placings are offered.

The overall points winner in the Native Pony Association of Cornwall's 2005 Performance Awards, was Grace Warmington with her lovely Connemara , Rinsey Drumlin. Grace was also the leader in the individual Connmemara section, and the Working Hunter Section. Grace (15) won a ticket to the Horse of the Year on this locally bred pony at the Royal Cornwall in June.

Second in the points awards was Mary Venner, with her Welsh Sec A, Rexon Royal Spirit of Freedom. Mary, from Foxhole, near St. Austell, also won the section for Driving, as well as the individual Section As. Clare Lutey, from Cubert took third place, with her Welsh Section D Trevarth Galaxy whowas bred by Clare's grandmother, Jo Lutey and the pair also topped the points in the Section Ds, and the Gymkhana points award.

Heidi Masters, from Bugle was fourth in the line-up, riding her Welsh Section C, Criterion Dynamite, and fifth was David Scott with the Welsh Section C Osbourne Dollar, often to be seen at our shows in the driving classes. Frances Webster from near Bodmin was sixth with her Dales pony, Jesta.

Other winners were, Teresa Chapman's Misty's Morning Star who won the Part bred section and the Dressage section. Also, Mrs Barbara Hall's Rosmarth Raindrop, who won the Fell award, Raindrop was also a HOYS ticket winner this year, and is ridden by Sarah McCormack from St. Mawgan. Sarah was also awarded the Show Jumping points award riding her own part-bred New Forest , Chyvounder Talisman. Trevarth Galahad, the Welsh Section D owned by Jean McNaughton and ridden by Amy Gregory also scored high in the ratings.
