NPA Winter Show

Once again the Native Pony Association of Cornwall's early winter show at Barguse was a great success, run efficiently by the club's Junior Committee.

Several ponies and riders were making their ridden debut at the show, and it was good to see some exemplary behaviour from them despite their lack of experience. One such rider was young Harison Pursall, who was riding his Welsh Section A Homeshill Red Dragon off the lead rein for the first time. He gave the judge such a foot-perfect and mannerly performance that he was brought forward in first position, much to the delight of his family and everyone else watching.

Graysons Lucky Robbie, the Fell stallion belonging to the Hall family, is newly broken, and came forward in the Novice class ridden by Jenna Braddon. He behaved very well, and will be one to watch next year. Lucinda Waters rode her new 6 year-old part-bred mare Tyrdulais Twinkle Toes for the first time in the ring, and was delighted to be awarded a first rosette for an elegant performance, with the mare behaving beautifully.

Amy Gregory once again came to the fore in the Large Breeds class, winning on Jean McCormack's lovely Welsh Section D Trevarth Galahad. She went on to take the Championship, with Lucinda Waters' Tyrdulais Twinkle Toes in Reserve, much to the delight of both owners and riders.
