Spurs Show Jumping Club

A great evening was had by all at Spurs Show Jumping Club’s first show of the 2005/6 season. With a bumper turnout, many of the regular competitors from last season followed the club to its new venue of Pendavey Equestrian Centre, near Wadebridge as well as many new faces from afar a field as Falmouth to Okehampton.

Club representative Mike Johns said: "We could not have asked for a better turnout. The first class being the Novice open attracted over 30 entries".

The ever so popular Pairs with a Twist class saw some nail biting competition won by Carol Dunster on ILPH Boxer and Danni Babb on Charlie. The more serious Open jumping class was won by Kennan Fowlie on Holcombe Hector who negotiated the tough demanding course where the jumps go up to 3ft - 3ft 3in. with ease.

The club wish to thank local farrier Andrew James who kindly volunteered his services for the evening building courses which demanded great attention from both horse and rider. Also to Sponsors Karen and Barrie Grose who were the sponsors of the trophies. The next club event will take place Thursday 17 November.
