Spurs Show Jumping

RESULTS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE

Despite the bad weather and the high winds at last weeks Spurs show jumping event they had a very good turnout, and all classes were well attended. The sponsor for the evening was Ursula Hambley and Reg Hambley of West Insure who provided the stunning horse heads for the first place winners and plaques for the second to fourth placings.

Thanks must also go to local farrier Andrew James who yet again donated his services as course builder for the evening. Despite a little apprehension from a few competitors all courses rode well with only few riders not getting a clear round.

Lucy Pugh had a good evening taking first and second place in the novice class riding Winston and Black Knight and fourth in the very popular Snooker on horseback riding Winston. Lucy has been an avid follower of Spurs show jumping from their conception and despite Lucy moving further away from Pendavey she still makes the long journey to Spurs show every fornight.

Sally Sanders is also an avid competitor at Spurs and is normally in the placings. She braves all weathers to attend the evening shows and the committee wish to thank all their supporters for their support. Carol Dunster from Bugle won the open riding her chestnut gelding ILPH Boxer who also took home second place in the Snooker on horseback.

There are only two shows left in the Spurs show jumping season 23 March and 6 April with the highly successful presentation evening on the 7 April. Tickets are going quickly and you are advised to obtain your ticket soon before it is too late.

The organisers are now looking for sponsors for their 2006/2007 season. If any individual or company would like to sponsor an evening of show jumping please contact Mike Johns on 01208 831008 for details. Despite what you may think it is not expensive to sponsor an evening and you get a chance to promote your company at the same time.
