Tall Trees Spring Show
RESULTS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE
The sun shone for the Tall Trees Annual Spring Showing Show which attracted competitors from both Devon and Cornwall. The best combination class judged by Jane Hoskin from Bodmin was so popular that the class had to be split in two for the canter round together. To save the children getting bored waiting for their turn Mrs Hoskin operated a good system when she  asked for their individual shows. Taking it in turns from each end of the line up not only proved popular with the children it enabled the class to flow without delay. The show pony riders were out in force and as Mrs Hoskin is down to judge at this years Devon County show, it was good outing for them. Lucinda Waters showed that over the winter she has got together well with her new chestnut show pony Twinkle who stood in first place ahead of twelve year old Rhys Harper on his grey Connemara Oatfield Charlie.
David Kernow had a good day, taking top prizes in both rings on Hot Spot, he won the open working hunter and second place in the ridden hunter in Angela Wise’ ring and the best coloured and Appaloosa plus ring championship under Jane Hoskin. Fourteen year-old Jemma Brown took the reserve championship with her Palomino gelding Tell the Truth who wont he Pony Club Pony class and took second in the best coloured or Appaloosa.
Five year-old Hannah Knight from Polgooth was delighted to win first prize in the tack and turnout riding her lovely little grey section A pony named Lucky on their debut outing together. Not long ago Hannah lost her pony Zac in tragic circumstances so a quick dash in the middle of the night was made to Shropshire by Hannah’s parents to purchase Lucky ensuring Hannah had a pony to ride. Hannah hopes to ride at he Royal Cornwall Show this year on Lucky in the Mountain and Moorland leading rein and to compete in some local gymkhana’s.
